Greenridge Estates' trash collection service is provided by J & J Trash, Inc. and is included in your Association dues.
Collection will not take place on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day (or any other day the Montgomery County Transfer Station is closed).
NOTE: Unlike County recycling, trash collection does not "slip" a day. If collection falls on a holiday, then trash will be collected on the next regular pickup day.
Homeowners are responsible for contacting J & J Trash directly for the pickup of bulk trash. Bulk must be scheduled in advance to be picked up on Thursday. Bulk is an extra charge to the resident and is payable at the time of scheduling. J & J is not permitted to take any items Montgomery County considers recycling, such as metal and appliances.
Montgomery County Recycling collection occurs once a week on Mondays for paper, commingled recyclables, and yard trim. (effective December 6, 2021) .
The county schedule slips one day during some holiday weeks. See calendar below or visit the MoCo recycling website.
Trash and recycling bins, yard waste/trim (including bags, bundles, and cans) may only be placed on the street the evening before or morning of collection.
Do not put trash, recycling, or yard waste on the curb any sooner.
Empty bins must be removed from the curb by the end of the day of pickup.
Our Association does not offer bulk pickup of large items. Homeowners must arrange for private pickup or take large items to the MoCo Transfer Station.
Per guidance from Montgomery County 311 customer service, if recycling or yard trim is not picked up on our scheduled Monday collection day, homeowners must personally contact 311 no later than 7:00pm, Friday, i.e., two business days following, to report the miss. MoCo 311 has informed us that the Association cannot call on behalf of homeowners or for the neighborhood. We strongly encourage homeowners to call 311 and report the missed pickup by Friday. We regret this inconvenience.
Visit the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection website for further information.
*AGAIN: Unlike County recycling, trash collection does not "slip" a day. If collection falls on a holiday, then trash will be collected on the next regular pickup day.

Homeowners needing additional recycling bins or replacing old broken bins should contact MC311 to place a request. While the delivery is easy, the pickup is sometimes confusing. Here's how the process works according to MoCo:
First, the Monday recycling crew does not pick up old recycling bins. You must call 311 or place a service request online. You will receive a service request number. The county's deadline for pickup (and delivery) requests is Friday at 2:00pm. If you put your request in by that time, you should put your bin upside down at the foot of your driveway (curbside) by the following Monday morning, 7:00am. THIS DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR BIN(S) WILL BE PICKED UP ON MONDAY. The county work orders and schedules vary; however, the bin should be picked up by Friday of that week. If the county comes to pick up your bin and it is not there, the service request will be cancelled, and you'll have to submit a new request. There have been situations where homeowners have put their bins curbside for weeks, not realizing that the work order had been cancelled. Please check the status of your order on the MoCo 311 website using your service request number. We hope this information is helpful.
Snow removal for our community is done by Montgomery County contractors. The Association has no control over when snow removal crews arrive. Homeowners can call 3-1-1 to inquire about snow removal status.
