On October 3rd, the Planning Board voted to consider removing the unbuilt northern and southern extensions of Midcounty Highway Extended (M-83), including the adjacent bikeway, from the Master Plan of Highways and Transitways (MPOHT). This Planning Board vote caught many people in Clarksburg community by surprise as the draft of the MPOHT left the roadway intact. You can read more about the issue on MPOHT’s 2024 technical update website.
Planning Board staff hosted another community meeting on, October 29 at Clarksburg High School, 22500 Wims Rd, Clarksburg, MD. You can view the planning board's presentation here.
The Planning Board will also hold an MPOHT public hearing on November 14th at 6:30PM to hear formal testimony about the unbuilt sections of M-83. Homeowners can sign up to testify live at the hearing either in-person or online via Microsoft Teams. Written comments can also be shared with the Planning Board via email by noon on Thursday, November 28, 2024 to mcp-chair@mncppc-mc.org. Written comments must reference the hearing date, the item, and a mailing address. Please note that while it is important to share feedback at the community meeting, your formal testimony is necessary to be included in the record.

This is to advise that effective May 1, 2022. Greenridge Estates Homeowners' Association trash collection dates will change to Mondays and Thursdays.
When Montgomery County changed the recycling pickup day to Monday, GEHOA homeowners were making three round-trips to the curb per week. The Association Board has been investigating changing trash collection dates to align with the new county recycling schedule, including possibly changing providers. Fortunately, our current service provider J&J Trash now has availability to pick up on Mondays, the same day as MoCo recycling. Please note that the second trash collection will now occur on Thursdays -- a change from Saturday collection.
For Monday collection, trash and recycling should be placed curbside Monday morning by 7:00am or Sunday night.
For Thursday collection, trash should be placed curbside by Thursday morning 7:00am, or Wednesday night.
Please remove your emptied bins from the street by the end of the day after trash & recycling collection. All trash and recycling bins must be stored out of sight except on collection days.
While we recognize any new routine will take a little adjustment, we hope this change is a welcome convenience to homeowners.
Due to the President's Day holiday on Monday, February 21, Montgomery County recycling collection moves to Tuesday this week.
Please do not put your recycling items, including bags of leaves and other yard debris, out on the curb until Monday night or Tuesday morning. Regular trash collection continues on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Also - there has been an increase in blow away trash and recycling litter throughout the community. Please check for trash along your entire property line, including the swales and drains. Help keep the neighborhood litter-free! Thank you!!
The next regular meeting of the Greenridge Estates HOA Board of Directors will take place on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 7:30pm. The meeting will be held by Zoom video-conference. Dial-in information was emailed to all homeowners. Homeowners are always welcome to attend.
The GEHOA Annual Members' Meeting will take place on Thursday, January 27, 2022, via Zoom. The meeting package with proxy and ballot, along with Zoom coordinates, will be mailed and emailed to all homeowners. The membership will elect one open Board position.
Greenridge Estates Homeowners' Association is seeking a homeowner to take the Officer position of Secretary on the Board of Directors. The duties of this position include taking minutes of the GEHOA meetings (i.e., Board meetings, Annual Members meeting, Special meetings) and posting the minutes on the website. The Secretary assists on HOA communications and other Board business as needed. Volunteering on the Board is a great way to meet other homeowners in the neighborhood and to help maintain the beauty and value of our community. Any homeowner in good standing (i.e., no assessments in arrears or unresolved covenant violations) is eligible to apply. New homeowners are encouraged to get involved! If you are interested in joining the Board, please fill out the Candidate Form and return it to gehoabod@gmail.com. If you have any questions, please drop us a line.
On December 9, 2021 the Montgomery County Planning Board will conduct a public hearing on Corridor Forward: The I-270 Transit Plan.
Corridor Forward: The I-270 Transit Plan contains an examination of and recommendations for a transit network, which includes both a near-term network of dedicated bus lanes and an ambitious long-term recommendation for an extension of Metrorail’s Red Line. The near-term network of dedicated bus lanes builds on existing master planned projects, including the MD 355 and Veirs Mill Road Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects to create a transit network that serves communities and employment centers along the I-270 corridor. The Draft Plan includes additional recommendations to support the proposed transit network as well as strengthen regional connectivity. Corridor Forward re-envisions the master planned Corridor Cities Transitway (CCT) as a network of more buildable dedicated bus lanes, known as the Corridor Connectors, which connect I-270 corridor communities to the county’s existing and planned rapid transit network.
This Functional Master Plan is an amendment to the 2013 Countywide Transit Corridors Functional Master Plan and the 2018 Master Plan of Highways and Transitways. It also amends The General Plan (On Wedges and Corridors) for the Physical Development of the Maryland-Washington Regional District in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, as amended, as well as several master and sector plans within the midcounty and upcounty communities.
Community members can provide written, video and audio testimony. Those wishing to testify at the public hearing are requested to sign up beginning 10 days prior to the hearing. To check the approximate hearing time, or to sign up to testify, go to https://montgomeryplanningboard.org/agendas/. For questions regarding the hearing or to sign up to testify, please send an e-mail to mcp-chair@mncppc-mc.org or call 301-495-4605.
Written comments must be submitted no later than 12 noon on Wednesday December 8, 2021. Written testimony may be submitted to: Chair, Montgomery County Planning Board, 2425 Reedie Drive, Wheaton, Maryland 20902; forwarded via email to mcp-chair@mncppc-mc.org or faxed to 301-495-1320.
